In issue 14 of TFP magazine; Knock Out and Breakdown take over a game show, while they’re on a date.
I want SO BADLY to read this entire issue. Just because of the fact that KOBD went on a date and it involved tormenting Autobots.
LIKE WHOA. Holy shit lookit that panel with the remote. That’s fuckin’ gold right there.
Man, I wish this had been animated and part of show canon. Some mindless fun like this would be great, a nice break from the grim and gritty, and even make the grim and gritty more stark in comparison.
But yes, I want to see this comic now!
Honest question why is this more enjoyable than the show?
Like. Besides that Breakdown isn’t ridiculously dead?
Because drama 24-7 isn’t the best thing ever.
You seriously need something fun once in a while—yes, even for the villains. Check out Avatar the Last Airbender and Batman the Animated series, they had their plain old humorous episodes with the antagonists just being amusing while still being in character.
This comic has this real charm to it, this real humor and genuine fun, while still somehow fitting the world and characters—this could’ve happened. KOBD could’ve just been this fun, and the Bots in this eccentric situation.
Having real humor and light in a bleak situation really makes it shine. And actual bouts of humor and light make the darker moments mean something more.
And, y’know, focusing on the characters you have, rather than offing them and replacing them, and then even offing the replacements and bringing in more new ones. At a certain point, better to develop what you have than just keep dismissing and adding and rinsing and repeating that process.
GAH I NEED TO READ THIS WHOLE COMIC.
